Canon has introduced the PowerShot SX20 IS, a long zoom bridge camera, as the successor of the PowerShot SX10. Based on the specifications, the new model seems to combine the good image quality of the camera it replaces and the HD video recording capability of the PowerShot SX1 while upping the resolution to 12.1 megapixels.

This is certainly the most anticipated camera replacement since last year. Canon has announced a pair as a replacement to the very popular Canon PowerShot S5 IS. Both cameras feature 28-560mm, 20x zoom lenses with image stabilizer and powerful DIGIC IV processors. It seems the PowerShot SX1 IS will not be available in the US market.

Canon has announced the successor to the popular Canon G9 digital camera. The PowerShot G10 features a 14.7 Megapixel sensor and is the first G-series camera to offer wide-angle imaging via a 5x (28mm) zoom with optical Image Stabilizer.

Canon has introduced a network camera with, among many advanced features, Smart Shade Control, Simultaneous M-JPEG/MPEG-4 High Quality Video, and PoE (Power over Ethernet) 802.3af compliant, Auto Day/Night Capability. Featuring Genuine Canon Optics, the VB-C60 has an ultra-long built-in zoom (40x optical) and wide angle lens (56-degree horizontal field of view), as well as an Auto Focus system and Image Stabilization.

Canon has, today, announced a replacement for the popular ultra zoom PowerShot SX 100 IS digital camera. Main improvements over the previous version include a higher resolution image sensor, a slimmer body and a 3.0” LCD.

Canon introduces two high definition camcorders with hard drive storage. The HG20 and HG 21 have 60GB and 120GB hard drives respectively. Both camcorders include an HD Video Lens, HD CMOS Image Sensor that allows full HD (1920 x 1080) image capture, DIGIC DV II Image Processor, Instant Auto Focus, Dual Recording capability using SDHC memory cards, low power consumption and new optional long life battery (BP-827).
